Family corner

Reading together is a great way to boost your child’s skills and have fun! Try asking:

  • What’s your favorite part so far?
  • What would you do if you were the main character?
  • Can you guess what might happen next?

Quick tip for readers and writers

When you write, remember: showing is better than telling! Instead of “She was scared,” try “Her hands trembled and her heart pounded like a drum.” Can you feel the fear?
